Overview
- - Purpose:
    Promote faculty startups to fulfill vision of 1 Lab 1 Startup
- - Expected outcome:
    Stimulate KAIST’s technology-based startup ecosystem
Requirements
- KAIST faculty and enrolled students(master’s/doctoral) whose startups are less than three years old
  - KAIST faculty and enrolled students(master’s/doctoral) whose startups are less than three years old
Details of support
- Team-building and PoC (assessment of technical feasibility, business potential, market potential, etc.) support for early-stage startups based on matching of in-demand technologies to technologies owned by KAIST laboratories
  - Funding amount:
    Research fund provided according to stage of business development (KRW 50 million–80 million)

Lab Startup KAIST

Overview
- - Purpose:
    Promote commercialization of lab-based research to fulfill vision of 1 Lab 1 Startup
- - Details:
    Match labs with entrepreneurial interest to outstanding accelerators, and providing funding for actual commercialization stage
- - Expected outcome:
    Promote technology startups among master’s/doctoral researchers
Requirements
- KAIST faculty and enrolled students (master’s/doctoral)
  - Only KAIST students/faculty may serve as team representatives; limited to items developed through lab research
  - Only KAIST full-time faculty may serve as project managers
  - Regular mentoring by startup accelerators required

- - (Potential) Startup team support:
    Funding and consulting (mentoring)
- - Outstanding IR team support:
    Follow-up support including space provision and IR
    - Funding amount : KRW 30 million–50 million per team

Overview
- Program for analysis of individual characteristics and team competencies among entrepreneurs
- Support entrepreneurial activities by analyzing individual characteristics that influence startup intent and presenting team-building directions

- Potential entrepreneurs of KAIST/participants in early-stage startup support programs

- Individual BOSI test and team-building coaching in connection with startup support programs such as E*5 KAIST and Lab Startup KAIST
- Analysis of members’ brain cognitive aptitude to enhance understanding of each member’s role in the team
- Analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and identification of areas that can be improved to enhance team performance

Overview
- Provide entrepreneur-centered legal counseling to fulfill vision of 1 Lab 1 Startup
- Operate legal counseling center to enhance Startup KAIST’s startup support service

IR/PR video production and digital marketing support

Overview
- Establish system to support media-based R&D technology commercialization through business model consulting and IR/PR video production support for regional small/medium-sized enterprises and startups with R&D outcomes and technology
Requirements
- Daejeon-based (potential) entrepreneurs and small/medium-sized enterprises (companies related to 4IR technologies such as IoT, wearable technology, 3D printers, big data, and AI)

    - Digital marketing (B2C company)
      Design and prototype improvement → IR/PR video production → Crowdfunding, digital marketing
    - Venture investment attraction (B2B company)

Overview
- A shared prototyping space where ideas are developed using 3D printers, laser cutters, machine tools, and electronic parts, and business/commercialization opportunities are explored

- KAIST faculty/staff and students(enrolled or on leave of absence)

  - Sharing of technology and experience in various fields required for product creation through hands-on workshops and online education
    - Fields: Flexible expansion of prototyping themes to include deep learning, Arduino, modeling-simulation, and woodworking
